Über

Margareta Pertl studierte an der Akademie für Bildende Künste in Wien und erhielt dreimal den Fügerpreis für ihre Zeichnungen. Die Royal Horticultural Society, London, zeichnete sie mehrmals für ihre Orchideenaquarelle aus. Seit 1998 illustriert Margareta Pertl Orchideen der Sammlungen der National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin, und des Botanischen Gartens der Universität Wien. Ihre Aquarelle von Orchideen sind in privaten und in staatlichen Sammlungen repräsentiert, unter anderem dem Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh. Zweimal hat sie an einer Expedition nach Madagaskar teilgenommen und ist Research Fellow of the University Core Facility Botanical Garden, Faculty of Life Sciences. Seit 10 Jahren gibt sie Kurse in botanischer Illustration und ist Gründerin der Gesellschaft „Wiener Schule der botanischen Illustration“. Margareta Pertl lebt und arbeitet in Wien und Dublin.

A graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, Margareta Pertl was three times awarded the prestigious Füger Prize for fine art drawings. Since 1998 Margareta Pertl illustrates orchids from the collections of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, and the Botanic Gardens of the University of Vienna. Her watercolours of orchids have won several medals from The Royal Horticultural Society of London. Her watercolours are represented in both private and national collections, including the Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh. She has twice taken part in an expedition to Madagascar, and is a Fellow of the Core Facility Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna. For the last 10 years she has given courses in botanical illustration, and is founder of the “Society Vienna School of Botanical Illustration”. Margareta Pertl lives in Vienna and Dublin.

  • Vanilla plants from Madagascar, in cooperation with the Botanic Gardens of the University of Vienna, Austria
  • Research, collection and illustration of orchids as described in Selectarum stirpium americanum historia  by Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquins (Direktor 1768–1796)
